About Dr. Sasha Rasmussen:
Dr Sasha Rasmussen is a cultural historian of Russia and France in the early twentieth century, with a particular focus on women and gender. More broadly, her research interests encompass urban history, histories of sexuality and the body, music and dance. She completed her DPhil in History in 2021, and during her time at Oxford she was the manager and regular bassoonist with Oxford Alternative Orchestra (now Orchestra Vox). She is currently a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of Nottingham, beginning work on a new project on intimacy between women in the Russian Empire and Soviet Union.
